Located North of Sydney this luxury beach home is nearing completion. The design of this dwelling boasts countless features and appointments but at the cornerstone is sustainability. The design incorporates five 16,000 litres WaterCells providing a total water storage capacity of 80,000 litres and an average annual rainwater harvest of over 500,000 litres.
The design parameters for this dwelling were complex from the beginning. Setbacks building envelopes, underlying volcanic rock, orientation and aspect, building bulk and articulation, floorspace ratio, local government regulations and basix were some of the obstacles faced at the design process.
Thanks to clever design and upfront planning five WaterCells were seamlessly incorporated into the subfloor of the structure without significant increase in construction costs.
The WaterCells are undetected from the street view and represent a major lifestyle enhancement for the occupants of the dwelling.
